  • What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a natural, organic compound found in the cannabis plant. It is often used in holistic medicine.

To be legally sold in the United States outside dispensaries, it must be sourced from hemp, which is a cannabis plant containing less than 0.3% THC, according to Medical News Today.

  • What is the difference between full, broad, and isolate oil?

At CBDuck OBX, we offer holistic medicine which includes full, broad, and isolate oils.

Full spectrum oil is a rich, whole plant extract that contains diverse and vibrant cannabinoids and terpenes, each of which has its unique profile and benefits. This rich balance encourages the entourage effect, which allows them to be combined in a way that is greater than the sum of their individual parts.

A broad spectrum oil is one in which a particular cannabinoid has been filtered out, in most cases THC, which preserves the integrity of the rest of the plant’s compounds.

An isolate starts with the hemp plant but is extracted to contain only that specific cannabinoid; it doesn't contain the plant’s other compounds.

  • What is the entourage effect?

This is the name given to the complex synergistic relationship between the hundreds of compounds found in the hemp plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and essential fatty acids. By preserving the rich natural balance of the plant’s compounds, the full and broad spectrum oils allow the compounds to be combined in a way that is greater than the sum of their individual parts. • Will I fail a drug test?

There is NEVER a guarantee that CBD will not show up in a drug screening. Single extracts contain Zero THC (which means psychoactive THC was filtered to below lab detectable levels on our third-party lab test reports) and full spectrum CBD oil and full spectrum blends contain less than 0.3% THC (the legal limit for hemp-derived products in the USA, according to Medical News Today).

Drug tests are looking for THC. However, given the different types of tests and their varied sensitivity and accuracy, there is the chance that they could accidentally pick up a trace amount of CBD or mistake another cannabinoid for THC.

Our team in Kitty Hawk, NC, specializing in holistic medicine, recommends that if you need to be drug tested, you either discuss your options with your employer (or whoever is requiring the test) or refrain from taking cannabinoids.

  • Will CBD make me feel “high”?

CBD and most cannabinoids are not psychoactive, which means they will not get you high. CBD is often used to reduce stress and to relax, as 62% of individuals aged 26 to 41 use CBD for these purposes, according to Forbes.

However, Delta-8-THC can be psychoactive. It is believed to be about half to two-thirds as intoxicating as Delta-9-THC or "regular" THC, according to the Journal of Cannabis Research. As the team specializing in holistic medicine Kitty Hawk, NC residents depend on, we recommend to not drive or operate machinery while taking Delta-8-THC.
